Dev Update #5: Play Your Way

Controller on every screen, our own pause menu, settings that explain each option, a new speedometer, a new minimap and a faster interface.

Every driver plays differently: keyboard or controller, full or clean HUD, km/h or mph. We wanted the RUSH interface to adapt to you, not the other way around.

CONTROLLER FROM START TO FINISH

Every screen works with a controller, with the same pattern everywhere: A confirms, B goes back, LB and RB switch tabs. Focus is always visible, an on-screen keyboard shows up when you need to type and the footer of each screen shows what each button does. You can even choose Xbox or PlayStation icons.

A RUSH MENU

ESC opens our own pause menu, with map, modes, vehicles, garage and settings, and it reopens where you left off. With TAB, the quick actions next to the speedometer start the car, turn on the hazard lights, open doors, repair and more.

SETTINGS THAT EXPLAIN

Settings now have tabs and a panel that explains the selected option. Nothing changes until you save.

SPEEDOMETER AND MINIMAP

Choose from three speedometers: Dial, Bar and Blades. The minimap was rebuilt, with a forward-facing perspective, a GPS route that follows the right road and icons for speed traps, races, the car meet and players.

FASTER

The interface now loads each screen only when you open it, the garage and store respond faster and the new audio system got rid of the stutters and sound delay.
