Dev Update #6: Nobody Races Alone
Chat, friends, notifications, driver tags, 1v1 street races and your Discord status: everything that connects RUSH drivers.
An empty track is no fun. In this stage, the focus was bringing drivers closer together.
TALK
Chat has three channels: Global, for the whole server, Local, for players nearby, and private messages with friends. It lives in the menu, in the pause screen and in a compact version on the HUD, and you get the history when you connect.
FRIENDS AND NOTIFICATIONS
Add friends by name, see who's online and what each one is doing, like "Racing" or "Creating a track". Notifications sit under a bell in the header and take you straight to what matters.
KNOW WHO'S ON THE TRACK
Driver tags show the name and picture of nearby drivers, whether they use keyboard or controller and whether they're talking on voice. Drivers also show up as portraits on the minimap. Anyone idle for 30 minutes gets the AFK badge and is sent to the car meet.
CHALLENGE ON THE STREET
Pull up next to another driver, honk and challenge them to a 1v1 street race to a point on the map. First one there wins.
ON DISCORD
While you play, your Discord profile shows the track you're racing on, the private world you're in or the car in the workshop.
